Every lawyer practising in Spain is on the census of the Consejo General de la Abogacía Española, and that census is public and free. Open it, pick the provincial bar, type the surname. If the person is not there, they are not a practising Spanish lawyer, whatever is written on the office door, and whatever a directory's badge says. This matters more here than almost anywhere: on the coast, the person handling a purchase for a foreign buyer is not always a lawyer at all.
